Your access level in iLearn will determine your capabilities and the data you can view. Read below to see the different access levels.
The Management utility is where student rosters are controlled. The Management utility will mostly look the same for district admins, schools admins, and teachers; the only difference is what level of data can be managed.
To access the Management utility, log in at www.ilearn.com/login and click "Manage My Students."
When accessing Management: teachers see their classes, school admins see their teachers, and district admins see their schools. To view what/who is under each school, teacher, or class simply click "view."
To learn about completing different tasks in the Management utility, click the grey topic bars below to toggle the expanded content.
All explanations below follow clicking "Manage My Students."
Below is a teacher view, but both district and school admins also can add classes under any teacher at any time.
To add a class, navigate to the class view (click classes on the left side). Then, to add a class, click:
The create class utility opens full screen.
Simply type in the correct information for the class and choose a class schedule. When done, click "create" at the bottom.
Below is shown as a teacher, but both district and school admins also can add students in any teacher's class at any time.
To add a student, click "view students" under the class under which the student is to be added.
You'll see a list of all of the students already registered in that class:
To add a student, click:
Before adding a new account, it's prudent to verify the account does not already exist by searching the roster that appears. You can search for the student by their ID or name. Keep in mind the search must match exactly so avoid long names and typos.
If the student already has an account, a new account should not be added. Simply double click to add the student under the Teacher of Record or to add the student as a Virtual View. If the student does not yet have an account, a new account can be added by clicking:
To add a new student account, first enter the Student ID. If the Student ID is already in use in your district, talk to your district administrator about getting the student moved to your school. After entering the Student ID simply complete the required information (marked by *), select the programs the student should access, and then click save.
The student is then added to the class!
A Virtual View allows a second or third teacher to monitor a student in iLearn. Virtual Views can be used for students who have multiple math classes or multiple teachers needing to view and monitor the student's progress in iLearn.
Below is shown as a teacher, but both district and school admins also can add Virtual Views at any time.
Adding a Virtual View of a student to your class is very similar to becoming a student's Teacher of Record. Select "View Students" next to their class, then "Add Students to this Class"
To find the student for the Virtual View, you can search by name or ID or scroll through the list of students. Once the student has been found, simply click the student's name. The student will appear in the box at the bottom with a note stating "Virtual" in a green box.
To add more than one Virtual View to the class, simply click each student's name that should be added as a Virtual View until all the names are present in the box at the bottom. When complete, simply click "save." Each Virtual View added will now appear in the class for the teacher.
Below is shown as a teacher, but both district and school admins also can remove students.
To remove a student, click "view students" under the student's class.
You'll see a list of all of the students already registered in the class:
To remove a student, click "view details" under the student's name.
Next, click "More Info/Edit" in the top right corner:
This is the student edit view, where you can edit a student's username and password, grade level, student ID, and first/last name. To remove the student from your class, select "Remove" at the bottom left corner.
